"Wow!"
The horn of the large ship blew loudly as people began taking their place to the off ramp, instantly climbing both upwards and downwards. It was a cloudless sky, the sun shining. A few Voltcan, Peliper, and Wingull flew around the sea a little ways out, the Water-and-Flying types searching for food from the vast ocean. Many civilians were either getting on or off of the ship, many with Pokemon beside them. Of course, one stood out, standing at the bottom on the ramp and on the dock with a Typhoshin at his side, a Johto symbol gleaming on his jacket. Two Pokeballs hung from his belt, as well as a third for his other Pokemon that stood silently, it's head hung low as it's eyes scanned the people walking past them as well as the small town around them.
"How cool is this?" Max mumbled, taking a step forward as his eyes gleamed slightly, taking a look at the town around them. Well, somewhat a town, it semed to be. Max, the boy with the red hat, jacket, and jeans, gave a large smile, looking over to his companion. "Can't believe Elm actualy got us here, can you?" he asked his Pokemon solemly.
The Fire-Type gave a huff, indacating that the motion was agreeable. Max's face turned bland for a moment at his Pokemon's reaction, though he tried his best to ignore it as he turned to begin walking. Sure, another journey for him after beating the Johto Pokemon Leauge wasn't all bad. Heck, even making small visits to Hoenn and Sinnoh along the way wasn't too bad, either. Seeing other places around the world were nice comparing to the lonesome town he had been living in for who knew how long. Max smirked as he dodged a few on-coming people, Flame the Tyhploshin close behind it's Trainer.
"Wonder where the lab is around here?" Max questioned him self, pausing to look around. Didn't Elm say that they had to find some women that was the Professor here before they started off? Max wanted to shrug it off and meet new people, but of course, a promise is a promise.
And Elm would probably send Chatter to keep him company if he didn't.

Alex had finally made it off of the boat, almost overwhelmed by the sight of nothing except mile beyond mile of vast ocean, to his new home town. It was an average day, a bit windy, but didn't matter much to Alex. The town wasn't very fancy, but it was better than nothing.
" I wonder who that is," he said, gesturing to the boy with a Typhloshin. The other boy was fairly far away, and took Alex a few moments to catch up with the black- haired boy. After what seemed to be a long time, he finally caught up with him. "Hi," Alex said, as tired as possible, panting excruciatingly. "My name is Alex, and I need some help. Do you know where the lab for getting my new Pokemon would be at?"

"Huh?"
Max nearly jumped at the sound of the other boy's voice when he heard it. Flame, due to natrual reaction, turned as well, though with a slight snarl towards the newcomer that had suprised his trainer. Max could only blink before giving a slight chuckle towards the trainer in a hat that stood by him.
"Man, I couldn't even tell 'ya that!" Max said almost apologetically towards the boy, giving Flame a slight step on his back toes to make him shut up.
Flame just scowled slightly, backing up a bit, his eyes weary and watchfull towards the other boy. By now, many of the people who were boarding and getting off had left to their places, and the dock seemed pretty empty without all of the sliouthes of people racing past. There was a slight wind, by which now Max could finally feel without all of the people running around.
"I'm tryin' to find the lab too, ya see," Max practically went on with a shrug. "I only just got here, personally." Max gave another appologetic chuckle and a shrug, Flame rolling his eyes at his trainer. "Oh, I'm Max, by the way," he said, introducing him self. "And that's Flame. Don't mind him. He can be sort of a grouch sometimes."
Max nodded towards his partner Pokemon when he said his name, though laughed when he said the last part. Flame blinked, his nose twitching slightly at his trainer, as if he were offended as to what his trainer had just said about him. But it was true, wasn't it?

Alex was a little upset by Max's remark, and quite frankly he had just gotten here too! But then again, he could get some kind of search party with Max, Flame, and Combusken. Not to mention himself.
"My name's Alex," he began, slowly reaching for one of his Poke'Balls, "And this is my Pokemon, Flame," he said, throwing the Poke'Ball as a white beam of light shot out from the center of the ball. A strange chicken-like Pokemon emerged from the Poke'Ball, looking around a little confused.
"Combusk?" it chirped, very unfamiliar with its surroundings. Flame [Alex's Combusken] wasn't aware that Alex's family was moving to the Gamos Region, so i guess you can see why he was unaware about his location. What? wouldn't you?
"Maybe Our Pokemon can help us find the lab," he suggested to Max hoping that it would speed up the process.

Flame the Typhloshin gave another slight scowl, this time towards the Fire-and-Fighting Type Pokemon. Very over protective was the Fire-Type of it's trainer, espesically if there was another Pokemon around. Flame liked Pokemon, sure. But only if they were on Max's Pokemon team, or if he had grew up with them around. Like Chatter Box, for instance. Max only smiled, though. He was actually happy to see another Fire-and-Fighting type Pokemon like Inferno. Of course, his Pokemon looked more of a Chicken than a Monkey, like Inferno did. And he probably wasn't as hyper as Inferno, either. Or at least, he hoped that he wasn't. Boy, would that get even more annoying! But then again, Max was used to the whole idea of it.
"That's a cool Pokemon," Max commented, chuckling slightly at it's confused expression. "And yeah, though I don't know how good these one's would be." Flame's nose twitched slightly as he looked practicaly down at his trainer, a now slightly annoyed look on his face. Max only gave a slight smile, though, to his Pokemon as he took a Poke'ball from his belt. "We could probably have my dad's Mightyena help us a little bit, though," he said, tossing the Pokeball into the air.
Out came a bursting red light, and a black and gray, dog-like Pokemon appeared, it's nose to the ground as it's tail wagged furiosly. Might was the one who usually liked to be in new places, and usually meet people, too. Almost comically, Might stepped forward as he sniffed the ground happily, a route straight towards Alex. The Pokemon paused as it got to the trainer's legs - practically bumping into them at the most - before he started to smell his shoes. And then his pants. After that, his belt. Finally the Pokemon's head ended in a straight-up positon, looking up at the trainer. The Pokemon gave a bark and jumped back slightkly, wagging it's tail furiosly now.

Alex was happy to see a dog Pokemon like Mightyana again. I mean, Alex had some good experiences with a Mightyana in the Hoenn Region. "Oh, wow! a Mightyana!" he said with excitement. Mightyana was his all time favorite Pokemon when he was little. But the closest thing he got to one, is its lower evolution, Poochiana. Quite frankly Alex was shocked on how his dad got his hands on one.
"I heard that a Mightyana has insanely great hearing and scense of smell," he commented on the hyper-active Pokemon. "Although I'm not quite sure he can keep up with Flame's awsome speed," Alex boasted. He was pretty sure Max would take up his offer to race and see who can find the Professor's lab. If Max had asked him that, he sure wouldn't turn the offer down.
"You up for it?" Alex questioned the Mightyana, now laying down on his feet.

Max practically laughed at the other trainer. Cocky, wasn't he? Well, if it was a race the trainer he wanted, then it was a race he would get! It wasn't like Max to turn down an offer for something that. He was pretty cocky him self. Why, he beat the Pokemon Leauge and became Champion not too long ago, did he not?
"Fine then!" Max laughed. "Who ever can find and get to the Lab first, they win! Isn't that right, Might?" At the sound of his name being called, the Pokemon jummped to it's feet and turned towards it's owner's son, wagging it's tail slightly. Flame gavea slight smirk.

Alex thought that the had a pretty fair chance of getting to the lab first considering the fact that he had Pretty Bird with him. He knew he was going to find that lab first. "Pretty bird, I choose you!" he called in mid throw. A flashing white light shined from the center of the ball, creating the image of a small bird. Almost big enough for him to ride.
Alex wasn't going to pass up an offer to ride through the air, going over about twenty something miles a second. "Come on Pretty Bird, let's get goin'," he said as he hopped on the birds back.
"See ya at the finish line!" he called out to Max in mid flight. Alex was pretty sure he was going to beat him there. Nothing was going to stop him now.

"In your dreams!"
Max gave that final call before hopping onto Flame's back. He knew the Pokemon was strong enough to hold him, much less carrying him while going at a speed of who knows how fast. He could win this one easily. Might had already taken off when Alex had, so Flame was rearing and ready to go when Max was fully clutched on. It was as if the Pokemon had began using Flame Wheel and had gotten much faster in doing so. In front, Might was running with his nose to the ground, already knowing where their destimation was. Max smirked, knowing he had this in the can.

Alex had no idea where he was going, nor what he was going to do once he got there. Max was hot on his trail. Literally. Swellow had incredable hearing. as well as eye sight. Alex thought that mabye the lab would be close to route one. Concidering the fact that there were probably a lot of Pokemon there. As he flew closer, and closer, he noticed a small house in the distance. It was the lab! but Max was almost there, and Alex wasn't ready to lose.
